0.001 BTC to EUR how much is 0.001 Bitcoin in EUR today

Satoshi reply to Mike Hearn, April 2009. Everybody, especially newcomers and r-bitcoin-readers should take a step back and read this.

From: Satoshi Nakamoto [email protected] Date: Sun, Apr 12, 2009 at 10:44 PM To: Mike Hearn [email protected]
Hi Mike,
I’m glad to answer any questions you have. If I get time, I ought to write a FAQ to supplement the paper.
There is only one global chain.
The existing Visa credit card network processes about 15 million Internet purchases per day worldwide. Bitcoin can already scale much larger than that with existing hardware for a fraction of the cost. It never really hits a scale ceiling. If you’re interested, I can go over the ways it would cope with extreme size.
By Moore’s Law, we can expect hardware speed to be 10 times faster in 5 years and 100 times faster in 10. Even if Bitcoin grows at crazy adoption rates, I think computer speeds will stay ahead of the number of transactions.
I don’t anticipate that fees will be needed anytime soon, but if it becomes too burdensome to run a node, it is possible to run a node that only processes transactions that include a transaction fee. The owner of the node would decide the minimum fee they’ll accept. Right now, such a node would get nothing, because nobody includes a fee, but if enough nodes did that, then users would get faster acceptance if they include a fee, or slower if they don’t. The fee the market would settle on should be minimal. If a node requires a higher fee, that node would be passing up all transactions with lower fees. It could do more volume and probably make more money by processing as many paying transactions as it can. The transition is not controlled by some human in charge of the system though, just individuals reacting on their own to market forces.
Eventually, most nodes may be run by specialists with multiple GPU cards. For now, it’s nice that anyone with a PC can play without worrying about what video card they have, and hopefully it’ll stay that way for a while. More computers are shipping with fairly decent GPUs these days, so maybe later we’ll transition to that.
A key aspect of Bitcoin is that the security of the network grows as the size of the network and the amount of value that needs to be protected grows. The down side is that it’s vulnerable at the beginning when it’s small, although the value that could be stolen should always be smaller than the amount of effort required to steal it. If someone has other motives to prove a point, they’ll just be proving a point I already concede.
My choice for the number of coins and distribution schedule was an educated guess. It was a difficult choice, because once the network is going it’s locked in and we’re stuck with it. I wanted to pick something that would make prices similar to existing currencies, but without knowing the future, that’s very hard. I ended up picking something in the middle. If Bitcoin remains a small niche, it’ll be worth less per unit than existing currencies. If you imagine it being used for some fraction of world commerce, then there’s only going to be 21 million coins for the whole world, so it would be worth much more per unit. Values are 64-bit integers with 8 decimal places, so 1 coin is represented internally as 100000000. There’s plenty of granularity if typical prices become small. For example, if 0.001 is worth 1 Euro, then it might be easier to change where the decimal point is displayed, so if you had 1 Bitcoin it’s now displayed as 1000, and 0.001 is displayed as 1.
Ripple is interesting in that it’s the only other system that does something with trust besides concentrate it into a central server.

Sites to Avoid: Definitely DO NOT post these.

Earnsanity — Shady owner, sketchy site. Held giveaway and then refunded the prizes after it was over. History of scamming many others. AVOID AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SCAMMED.
Paidverts — Shady owner, sketchy site. Keeps doing debt swaps (cash to BAP). Do not post.
Neobux — It isn’t really a scam, but they operate as a pyramid scheme. There’s money to be made online, but it’s definitely not there.
MarketGlory — It does pay out, but the pay is absolutely ridiculous. The only way to make a decent amount of money is to have a lot of referrals, and referral whoring on this subreddit WILL result in a permanent ban.
MindSumo — Not actually a /beermoney site. It’s only spam in this sub.
G2A — Scam/sells stolen keys.
Robinhood — This is spammed on our sub constantly.
Quickthoughts — Many reports of people being banned when trying to withdraw as of 10/2018. Do your due diligence before possibly wasting your time on this app.
Sites with $100+ minimum — These sites usually offer higher than normal payments for simple tasks, with a high minimum to cash out. They are always scams.
Generic news sites that pay you ridiculous amounts to read an article (two euros??) — Common sense should take care of this, but in case it doesn’t, it’s always a scam. The site is usually hosted somewhere in Eastern Europe, and you will never get paid.
Free bitcoin sites/"faucets" (THIS INCLUDES QOINPRO) — This is not referring to those video-viewing/task sites (although they’re still paying fragments of a penny). I’m talking about sites that give you 0.000001BTC to fill a captcha (freebitco.in, dailybitcoins). Admittedly many beermoney sites pay low, but don’t even bother with these.
Also: Bitcoin mining is NO LONGER PROFITABLE. If you're really so keen on getting bitcoins, doing so through an exchange is your best option.
Here are a few more scam sites and sketchy sites.

Please note that presence on this post does not imply that /beermoney or its moderators endorse the site or their views, actions, or policies. This list simply contains sites that are used by a large number of our users or are frequently mentioned on our subreddit.
We frequently monitor data from all the sites on this list from various sources to ensure that users are able and interested in utilizing them and if they do, that they also are getting paid promptly and fairly for all work they do. We make adjustments to this list and the order of sites accordingly based on all the data we receive.

Please make sure you follow the Rules of our subreddit and if you ever have any questions about anything beermoney related, please take a look at our extensive FAQ which should answer almost any question you might have.

Libra coins, another scam?

Facebook officially launched Libra cryptocurrency on June 18, positioning it as a global digital native currency. Facebook points out that the asset behind Libra is the biggest difference between it and the existing cryptocurrency, as well as its availability, acceptability, and replaceability. Libra coins are created on the basis of the Libra blockchain and guaranteed by the real asset-based Libra reserve. Whether it's Libra coins, Libra blockchain or Libra reserves are supervised by the Libra Association, an independent non-profit member organization headquartered in Switzerland and managed by the Libra Association Council.

What are Libra coins exactly? Facebook said Libra would be linked to a basket of low-risk securities and government-issued currencies such as the dollar, euro, pound, and yen. Libra is expected to launch in 2020. It is reported that Libra is a digital currency based on the blockchain, which allows Facebook users to transfer out or transfer in funds or pay for services. The goal of Libra is to expand its use beyond social networks: consumers can eventually use Libra to take a taxi or buy a cup of coffee.
Digital currencies are designed to avoid one of the biggest problems facing cryptocurrencies: volatility. At one point, bitcoin fell from nearly $20000 to about $6000 in four months. A series of price fluctuations of bitcoin also lead to the fact that bitcoin does not trade. Many stable currencies then link their value to less volatile assets, such as the dollar or a basket of national currencies or commodities. The issuers of these stable coins maintain the price of the stable coins they issue by holding the assets. The most popular stable currency so far, Tether, claims to maintain a certain amount of US dollar reserves; the price of Tether fluctuates only a few cents. Click here to visit BTCMEX.com.

The structure of the Libra ecosystem has surpassed any cryptocurrency, however. The internal and external properties of Libra coins supported by this structure are also different from the existing cryptocurrencies. Facebook pointed out that at present, many cryptocurrencies lack the support of basic assets, which makes the main purpose of these cryptocurrencies focus on speculation and investment. Many people only want to sell them at a higher price in the future, so that their prices often change dramatically. On the other hand, the reserve assets of Libra currency will be held by custodian institutions with investment-grade credit ratings distributed around the world to ensure the safety and dispersion of assets. Click here to visit BTCMEX.com.
Facebook expects people to use Libra currency for daily transactions, from the transfer, shopping to mobile payment, etc. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg said there are about one billion people around the world who don't have bank accounts, but they have mobile phones. With asset reserves as support, Libra currency is also easier to convert into other currencies, just like the way other currencies were imported in the past: to ensure that the currency can be exchanged for real assets.

In addition, the participation of large enterprises such as Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, and Uber will help promote the market's acceptance of Libra currency, and Libra's low transaction costs are also expected to stimulate people's adoption. In a word, Libra currency inherits the advantages of cryptocurrency in encryption, security and fast transfer, and eliminates the high volatility of cryptocurrency. But at present, Libra is facing the test and query of central banks in various countries. Facebook's neglect of personal privacy is also mentioned again. What's more, no bank has become the verification node of Libra blockchain, and no matter what Apple, Amazon or Google was not involved.
Facebook's revenue growth has slowed in recent years, and companies are actively looking for new ways to make money beyond advertising. Libra may be able to unlock new revenue opportunities in terms of payments and business. Facebook's partners in the Libra project, such as Visa and Uber, also have their own motivations. For example, if Libra is really enough to subvert its payment business, visa wants to be at least one of the subversive forces. Click here to visit BTCMEX.com.

In November, Velvet Exchange listed CRON coins.
Currently, there are CRON/USD and CRON/EUR trading pairs available on the exchange.

First CryptOcean Cryptocards Transactions

The first lucky ones participating in the CryptOcean test program have already received a limited series of plastic cards and pay with them in stores, on the Internet and even withdraw cash from ATMs! We successfully tested the CryptOcean card and appreciated all its advantages, so did our Asian clients at a conference in Malaysia. Until December 2, we plan to launch mass issues of cards, as well as finalize an algorithm that will allow CryptOcean users to directly issue a card from Bitchange’s personal wallet, replenish its balance and perform any other service operations.
You can pre-order the CryptOcean card here: https://preorder.cryptocean.io

Presentation of the CRON.VPN Product

Now you do not need to worry that when working in public networks (cafes, airports, hotels) the privacy of your data will be at risk. CRON.VPN is a service developed by CryptOcean experts based on the WireGuard solution, which ensures the security of data transfer when working on any network by providing the user with a secure VPN connection through our own servers in the UK.
For CRON.VPN to work, it’s enough to have a wallet with a CRON coin, a Telegram messenger and an installed WireGuard software package on each of the devices. There is a simple partner program provided for all users, which allows you to earn up to 33% of all referral payments directly to your CRON wallet. You can get more information about CRON.VPN here: https://t.me/@CronVpnBot

The final version of the CryptOcean exchange with public access will be available at the end of January 2020.

Velvet uses low fees for deposit/withdraw and trading: both companies and private traders can deposit euros with a commission of 0% and withdraw with a commission of 0.5% + 5 EUR. At the same time, the commission fee decreases as trading volumes increase and can decrease to 0% for the producer and 0.001% for the buyer.

[Hiring] Character creation for Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency community

I'm looking to commission a piece to be given as a gift to the Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency community at large. I reached out to a few artists individually, but figured I'd open it up as a general post as well. The premise is this: there's a saying in the Bitcoin community, "Vires in Numeris" ("Strength in Numbers"). It's a saying that focuses on the fact that that currency is not based on faith in any corporation, government, or entity, but purely in numbers. While that's a great saying, and a great thing to base a technology on, it's not that sexy a thing to say that "Numbers" or "Math" is what you believe in.
So, I'd like to commission a portrait of "Math" and her daughter "Cryptography" personified as women (somewhat like what people have done for web browsers or iMacs), done pinup style, as something more attractive to point to.
This commission would be to create the two characters, and do one illustration of the two of them posed together. No background needed, but the final output should include versions of the two characters on transparent layers (to make it easier for the community to re-use), and the artwork itself will need to be released to the public domain (though an artist mark/signature on it as attribution is fine).
A little more detail on what I'd like: the "Math" character should not be too young; a more middle-aged woman; strong and beautiful in a classical sense. Somewhat like a "blind Justice" regal figure, with some Jessica Rabbit thrown in. Her daughter "Cryptography" should be younger, and more mysterious/mischievous. I picture her in a hooded cloak, but not face totally shadowed/hidden, but rather with a sly smile like she knows a secret she's not telling.
In terms of style, the illustrative style I most want to see is a "smooth-shaded" anime style for these characters (lightly-lined (like this (NSFW), or this), or unlined (e.g.)). Also, this piece should include as part of the character's costuming details that point to their personification (like how this Bitcoin piece has several references to Bitcoin beyond the literal Bitcoin coins, like the animal is a honey badger, and the skulls of things it killed have the other world currencies on it. I picture something like numbers, symbols, equations, etc. in "Math"'s outfit, binary zeroes and ones, locks and keys, etc. for "Cryptography"). I can help generate ideas for these details if you're unfamiliar. I love the costume details in pieces like this or like this, if that sort of feel could be reached.
The payment for this piece would be 0.045 Bitcoin (BTC), which is worth about $430 at the moment (To calculate the current value, head over to LiveCoinWatch and enter "0.045" in the "BTC" field in the top right; it will automatically calculate the USD value of it in the field next to it). If you've never accepted Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency as payment before, I'd be happy to get you set up so you could!
Since I'm offering to pay in Bitcoin, the price will fluctuate if you're looking at the USD (or Euro, or other currency) value, though at the moment the price per Bitcoin is on the rise, so by the time the piece is done, it could be worth a bit more!
EDIT: Thanks for the responses so far! PM'd several artists to start making a shortlist. I'll leave this up for a day or two more to see if there's any other respondents before making a final choice.
EDIT 2: Artist selected; 31Kit hired for this commission. After this one is complete, I may be back to have other variations/combinations of the characters created for specific uses; thank you to all who replied!

Introducing Litecoin as base currency - Huge Bisq/Bitsquare update - Check out v0.5.1

This release comes with tons of changes and improvements.
Please download at: https://github.com/bitsquare/bitsquare/releases/tag/v0.5.1
Most relevant changes are:
Please see the full release notes below.
As that release has very profound changes it is NOT backward compatible to the earlier versions. It uses a new network which is separated from the current trade network. So your offers from the current application will not be visible for users who are using the new version.
If you want to migrate to the new version you need to close your offers and withdraw your funds to the new application. You can run both applications in parallel as they are using a different data directory. You cannot move over the wallet or application data because the wallet format has changed (BIP44) and we use a different data structure for the data base files. So you need to transfer the Bitcoin with a BTC transaction and set up your payment account(s) manually.
Please double check with cmd+e in the old application if no funds are left over (some bugs might have caused that the balance displayed in the UI is not correct).
Please use small amounts when starting trading in the new application as with so many changes there are some risks for bugs (though it is thoroughly tested).

Binance Jersey: Everything You Need To Know

Sign-up for Binance Jersey Fiat Exchange
At this time, the digital currency exchange market is filled with a wide variety of choices, therefore choosing the right exchange or trading platform can be quite a headache for both novice and veteran cryptocurrency users.
Binance is a popular cryptocurrency exchange which was started in China but recently moved their headquarters to the crypto-friendly Island of Malta in the EU. Binance is popular for its crypto to crypto exchange services. While the company is still fairly new on the market ( it launched last year ), it has managed to gain a lot of popularity thanks to its impressive number of Initial Coin Offering listings, professional attitude and friendly CEO and also due to its low trading fees.
Binance Website
In our review, we will attempt to outline everything that you must know about Binance, including how it works, the crypto pairs that you can exchange, trading fees/limits, security aspects, and customer support.
Visit Binance »
How the Exchange Works Contents [Show]
Those who visit Binance for the first time will quickly notice that the platform offers two options for digital currency trading- basic and advanced. Neither the basic, nor the advanced versions are bound to be easy to use for complete beginners. However, anyone with a background in digital currencies and with a bit of knowledge into how exchanges work should be able to use the platform and its different services.
The main difference between the basic and the advanced version is that the advanced one offers more-in-depth technical analysis of digital currency value over time. At this time, the dashboard for the basic version offers several graphs and charts for the pairs that you’re trading, order books, and trade history.
3Commas This is what the basic view looks like :
Binance Trading View
The Basic view is nicely designed and well laid out, all the information you need is clearly presented with prices on the left, graphs in the center along with the buy and sell boxes and the trade history is presented on the right so you can quickly see what the latest trade prices were.
And this is what the advanced view looks like:
Advanced View
The advanced view uses a dark theme and makes the trading charts larger and the latest trade prices are displayed on the right with the buy sell boxes underneath.
Which you choose is a matter of preference really, I like the lighter colored basic view and find the layout a little easier to use.
Binance Signup & Login To use the exchange, users will first have to create an account. The process behind this is fairly simple and straight-forward and you don’t have to verify your account for level 1 which is a 2BTC daily withdrawal limit. For level 2 which allows up to 100BTC per day, you need to upload a photo ID and wait till you are approved. There are higher limits still, but you will need to contact them directly to arrange that.
Time for verification can vary depending on how busy the site support staff are, so make sure to plan ahead if you wish to withdraw larger amounts and make sure this step is complete before depositing and trading large sums on the exchange.
ID Verification
Now, that this is out of the way, users can go ahead and fund their Binance account. While you can choose from a multitude of digital currencies, it is recommended that you stick with either BTC or ETH.
To fund your account visit the “Funds” > “Deposits / Withdrawals” link at the top of the site and find the currency you wish to send, then click the “Deposit” button next to it which will then you give you the wallet address. You can then send your funds to this address to begin trading on the platform, depending on which currency you deposit it will take different times to show up as this is reliant on that currencies blockchain. Some currencies like Ethereum are faster than Bitcoin which can take a while.
Binance Wallets
Now that your account is funded, you can simply start trading, exchanging and investing in various digital currency pairs. Binance offers plenty of choices, as they support all major digital currencies, but also numerous ICO listings and their respective tokens.
At this time, the platform can only be used to generate limit and market orders. This has been considered a disadvantage by some, as many expected trading options that would be more advanced. Following the placement of your order, simply wait for it to be fulfilled according to the terms that have been set.
How to Trade on Binance Trading on Binance is fairly straight-forward if you have used any other cryptocurrency exchange before. To get started, make sure you have deposited some funds – there are options for trading pairs in BTC, ETH, BNB and USDT. Once you have your funds, at the top right menu, select “Exchange” > “Basic” or “Advanced” to load the trading screen. We will be using the Basic view.
Binance Trading View
On the right hand side, of the screen select a tab from BTC, ETH, BNB or USDT this is what you will be trading in. Then choose your desired currency from the list. You can also search here and you can create a favorites list by clicking the star next to any currencies.
Choose currency to buy
Once your desired currency has loaded, take note of the left-hand column which shows prices that people are willing to sell at in the top half in red and prices people are willing to buy at in green in the bottom half. The number in the middle shows the last sale price.
Buy and Sell Prices
Now to place a buy order, use the center box underneath the graphs and you will see the buy box is in green on the right. You can manually enter a price you wish to purchase at, but a better way is to click a number on the left-hand column. You can then enter the amount of the currency you wish to buy or click the 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% buttons which will fill it with an amount based on how much of the buying currency you have ( in this case BTC ).
Buy Order
Once your order is placed it will be show underneath in the “Open Orders” section until it is filled. At that point your new currency will be available under the “Deposits / Withdrawals” menu where you can withdraw it to the wallet of your choice.
Supported Crypto Currencies Binance has often been praised for its wide variety of support coins. Traders can use the platform for multiple digital currencies, including, but not limited to Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, EOS, Dash, LiteCoin, NEO, GAS, Zcash, Dash, Ripple and more. As mentioned before, Binance also supports numerous tokens, as part of ICO listings. With this in mind, traders can use the platform to trade these tokens for a profit as well.
Binance is currently very quick to add new coins and tokens after their ICO which usually means you can purchase them cheaply which allows for greater profit down the road.
They currently offer trading pairs in BTC, BNB, ETH and USDT.
Binance Markets
Binance ICO & BNB Coin Another thing to note is the Binance Coin, which was issued during their own ICO. The Binance coin can be used to pay fees and it will also feature in their future plans to create a Decentralized Exchange where it will form one of the key base currencies. Purchasing the Binance coin itself looks like a good investment for the future as the exchange plans to use their profits to buy back a portion of the coins every quarter and destroy them: hence decreasing the supply and making them more valuable for holders.
Every quarter, we will use 20% of our profits to buy back BNB and destroy them, until we buy 50% of all the BNB (100MM) back. All buy-back transactions will be announced on the blockchain. We eventually will destroy 100MM BNB, leaving 100MM BNB remaining.
Binance BNB Coin
If you’d like to read more about the BNB Coin, check out our indepth guide.
Binance Fees & Limits At the time of writing, Binance charges an average fee of 0.1% on each trade that a user makes. Those who choose to pay via the Binance token can get a 50% discount on the trading fee, which is absolutely great news. These are surely some of the lowest fees available at this time.
Withdrawal fees tend to vary for each digital currency. For instance, 0.0005 is charged for Bitcoin withdrawals, and 0.005 is charged for ETH withdrawals. Here are some examples to give you an idea of the fees you will be paying for withdrawals:
COIN CODE Fee Unit Binance Coin BNB 1 BNB Bitcoin BTC 0.001 BTC Ethereum ETH 0.01 ETH Litcoin LTC 0.01 LTC Neo NEO Free NEO Qtum QTUM 0.01 QTUM Status SNT 10 SNT Bancor BNT 1.2 BNT Eos EOS 0.7 EOS Bitcoin Cash BCC 0.0005 BCC Gas GAS Free GAS USDT USDT 50 USDT When it comes down to transfer limits, there is no limit on the number of coins that you can deposit. However, without getting verified, users are limited in terms of how much they can withdraw. Verification will establish you as a level two users, thus lifting these limits and providing a lot more freedom when using the platform. The verification process requires users to provide Binance with their full name, country, gender, a photo of passport/government-issued ID, and even a selfie with the passport.
Binance Competitions A unique feature of Binance you will notice is that they regularly hold competitions with some amazing prizes. Some examples of competitions in the past include Waves and Tron. The waves competition gave away 20,000 Waves to Traders based on how many trades they have made of this currency.
The other competition for Tron (TRX) gave participants the chance to win a Maserati car, Mercedes Benz car, a Macbook Pro or a iPhone X. Again, the winners were the people with the highest trading volume of this currency.
The current rankings show that the person in first place had over 358 BTC volume in trades so you will need to be a whale to be in with a chance of winning first prize. There are other regular competitions though, so keep an eye on the site for your chance to enter.
Is Binance Safe? While Binance is one of the newest cryptocurrency exchanges available on the market, it has quickly managed to attain a high level of trust from its users and the digital currency community. However, the exchange fails to provide users with enough information on how the funds are being secured, yet we like to believe that security is taken seriously. Two-factor authentication is available and is always a nice sight. It is however known that the platform offers a multi-tier and multi-tier system architecture.
Update: In March 2018 Binance suffered a hacking attempt.
The hackers tried to pull off an audacious move which was luckily caught by the automated systems in place at the exchange. For months the hackers had been accumulating people’s logins via a phishing website and secretly installing API access on the affected accounts. They then struck, converting all the victims altcoins to BTC and purchasing Viacoin, pumping the coin to a huge price and then selling their own supply of Viacoin at the high point, before trying to withdraw the BTC to their own wallets. Luckily no one lost funds as the hack was caught and the only people to lose out were the hackers, whose funds will be donated to charity.
As this hack was made possible by people entering their site logins and 2FA details into a fake website, you should always make sure you are on the correct Binance url before logging in. We recommend you bookmark the site and only use that to access it, never click links from emails, Twitter, Telegram etc.
This event has done a lot to instill confidence around Binance, not only did their automated processes catch the attempted hack before anyone lost any funds, they have since offered a $250,000 bounty to anyone who can help catch the hackers. Throughout this event, Binance acted exemplary and have been praised for their swift action in resolving this.
Binance Customer Support For an exchange to be successful, it requires a great customer support team, capable of answering all user questions and requests in a timely manner. While the support area on Binance could use a little work, the team is responsive and capable of offering professional aid to traders in need. Support tickets are submitted via an online form featured on the website, and responses are made via email. There is currently no live chat support, nor a phone number where customers can get in touch with the support team.
Binance Customer Support
Other than the CS team, Binance offers a couple of FAQs and articles meant to help users get accustomed to the exchange and the way it works.
Binance FAQs
It should be noted that customer support on Binance has been known to be slow to respond to customer requests. This is a familiar phenomenon with most of large exchanges and is due simply to the volume of users and amount of support staff. The exchanges have grown at an explosive rate this past year and the companies simply haven’t been able to keep up with demand. Binance grew fast especially, going from launch to the largest exchange on the planet in a few short months. Support staff for exchanges have to be carefully vetted and trained due to the technicalities and security requirements involved – unlike other traditional companies where staff can be trained quicker.
Some things to bare in mind are double-checking wallet addresses, make sure you are sending the correct cryptocurrency to it’s corresponding address on the site. Mixups with wallets are one of the biggest mistakes people make when using exchanges. Other things to note are, try a smaller test payment first if you plan to transfer large sums – it may cost you a little more in fees but will be worth it for peace of mind.
If you do need to contact support, make sure you provide them with enough information to be able to help you first time. Include wallet addresses, times of transactions and any other information you think they might need to help speed up the process.
The Move to Malta In March 2018, Japanese Newspaper Nikkei reported that Binance was trading in Japan and not following their official regulations. This caused some turbulence in the markets until Binance made an official announcement that they were going to be moving operations to the crypto-friendly island of Malta in Europe, stating :
After reviewing several different locations, the company decided to invest in the European nation due to its existing pro-blockchain legislation and the stability that it offers financial technology companies through its regulatory framework.
This is good news for the company and they even received a warm welcome from the Prime Minister of Malta on Twitter. Binance also announced that they were in talks with Maltese banks with the goal of providing Fiat transactions, meaning they can offer an on-ramp for fiat to crypto transactions in future along with fiat trading pairs on the exchange.
More good news for Binance, it seems as their profile and reputation within the industry continues to grow.
Launching a Decentralized Exchange More recent news for Binance and what seems like good news BNB holders is the fact that they are planning to launch their own Decentralized Exchange ( DEX ):
“After extensively researching decentralized exchange frameworks and analyzing existing implementations, we believe significant improvements can be made in providing Binance users with a level of trading experience to which they are already accustomed. Centralized and Decentralized exchanges will co-exist in the near future, complementing each other, while also having interdependence.”
The BNB digital asset, now an ERC-20 token, will migrate as the native token of that network and be used for paying the trading fees on the new exchange.
Launching a Decentralized Stock Exchange More good news recently for Binance is that they are partnering with Neufund to build the world’s first Decentralized Stock Exchange. Alongside the Malta Stock Exchange, they are aiming to create a regulated and decentralized, global stock exchange for listing and trading tokenized securities alongside crypto-assets.
According to CapLinked, the market cap of equity tokens alone is projected to reach $1 trillion by 2020 and thanks to the partnership with MSX, a subsidiary of the Malta Stock Exchange and Binance, Neufund will become the first end-to-end primary issuance platform for security tokens, in particular, equity tokens. It will secure ways for secondary trading of equity tokens and enable companies around the world to fundraise on Blockchain in a legal way while offering much-needed liquidity.
This is more positive news for Binance as they aim to consolidate their position as the world’s number one Crypto Exchange.
Binance Jersey Launch – Now Supports Fiat to Crypto As of 16th January 2019, Binance has announced the launch of a new Fiat to Crypto exchange named “Binance Jersey“. The trading platform is live and active and allows you to trade in fiat currencies such as euros and pound sterling, with Europe being their target market.
We have now carried out a full review of Binance Jersey, so take a look for more indepth details about the new platform.
Binance Jersey
Visit Binance Jersey »
At the time of writing they are only offering four trading pairs with more to follow soon:
BTC / EUR BTC / GBP ETH / EUR ETH / GBP Supported Jurisdictions: Argentina Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) Latvia Romania Armenia Finland Liechtenstein Singapore Australia France Lithuania Slovakia Austria Germany Luxembourg Slovenia Azerbaijan Gibraltar Macau South Africa Belgium Greece Malta South Korea Brazil Hong Kong Mauritius Spain Bulgaria Hungary Mexico Sweden Canada Iceland Monaco Switzerland Chile Ireland Netherlands Turkey Croatia Israel New Zealand United Arab Emirates (UAE) Cyprus Italy Norway United Kingdom (UK) Czech Republic Jamaica Peru Uruguay Denmark Japan Poland Estonia Jersey Portugal Customers who wish to trade in the support fiat currencies will need to carry our KYC procedures by uploading their ID documents such as passport and driving license.
Wei Zhou, Binance’s CFO released this statement about the launch :
“Expanding the cryptocurrency exchange markets with fiat currencies in the European region is opening new economic opportunities for Europeans as well as freedom from looming Brexit uncertainty where the pound and euro are also in concern. Through Binance Jersey, we want to help bridge the crypto-fiat channel for Europe and the U.K. as part of our global expansion to support broader cryptocurrency adoption”.
If you are familiar with trading on Binance, then you will feel at home on their new exchange – it uses the same engine and the trading screen is laid out in the same fashion with the option to choose between Basic and Advanced views:
Binance Jersey Trading Screen
To fund your account in fiat, you will first need to complete the KYC process, once that is done you can then deposit funds directly from your bank account by linking it from the Deposits screen. You can also fund your account with BTC or Ethereum. Once you have your account setup and bank account linked, you can also withdraw funds in fiat currency – this is great news as Binance is now able to offer a way for investors to cash out their cryptocurrencies.
We have upgraded our review scores below and we feel this is a huge improvement to Binance’s Exchange offering, if they manage to roll this out to even more countries ( USA is currently excluded) it could be a game changer as people now have an extra, regulated fiat on and off ramp for their holdings.
Buying Bitcoin with Australian Dollars On March 20, 2019, Binance announced the launch of Binance Lite Australia, the continent’s first fiat gateway to the world of cryptocurrencies which provides a secure, reliable, and easy to use way to buy Bitcoin with cash in Australia.
The cash-to-Bitcoin brokerage service operates via a network of over 1,000 newsagents across Australia, and currently allows anyone to buy Bitcoin using Australian Dollars (AUD), and there are plans to include additional digital currencies and fiat purchasing options in the future.
Users must first undergo account verification on Binance Lite, and after being successfully verified, users can place online orders and deposit cash at their nearest newsagent, in order to receive their pre-ordered Bitcoin.
The Binance Lite brokerage service is operated by InvestbyBit, an independently operated subsidiary of the Binance.com cryptocurrency exchange. The service aims to simplify the process of purchasing cryptocurrencies and make digital assets such as Bitcoin readily accessible across Australia.
Fees A 2.5% transaction fee (50% discount applied) plus GST on the transaction fee for each purchase is currently being charged as an introductory rate. Therefore, for a $50 order, the transaction fee will be $1.22 and the GST will be 10% of the transaction fee, which is $0.12. Limits The system is currently in its Beta phase, and the minimum purchase amount has been lowered to $30 with the maximum purchase amount capped at $1000. These limits may change over time and only multiples of $10 are being accepted, such as orders for $50, $60, $70 etc. Verification First time customers are required to go through a one-time Know Your Customer (KYC) document verification. When using the service, it’s necessary to follow the instruction prompts after the order page and go through the verification.
In order to complete the verification process, it’s necessary to submit 1 or 2 forms of government issued ID documents as a Passport, Driver’s Licence, or Medicare card, in addition to your residential address. Any returning customers, who have already completed KYC verification, will be sent to the order summary page directly after opening a new order.
Each account is linked to a mobile number, and users should ensure to use the mobile number provided when first completing the verification process. Anyone choosing to use a new mobile number will be required to complete the ID verification process once again.

Binance Launchpad and Initial Coin Offerings (IEOs) Binance Launchpad is the exchange’s token launch platform that aims to connect blockchain projects with the greater cryptocurrency community and enable projects to raise funds while interacting with Binance’s significant user base. In December 2017, the BREAD and GIFTO projects were able to hold successful token sales on Binance Launchpad and projects such as BitTorrent and Fetch.AI have also held successful launches in 2019. The platform makes use of the exchange’s native BNB token and rewards users for holding the token as well as allowing it to be used to participate in token sales.
Read: What is an IEO?
How Token Offerings Work on Binance Launchpad The ability to part in token offerings continues to attract a significant amount of users to Binance and it’s necessary to go through a number of steps in order to get used to the Launchpad platform. Anyone interested in a project should first go to the Binance Launchpad website and click on the project page and thoroughly research any of the projects on offer. If not already done, it’s also necessary to complete your Binance account verification, as token sales are carried out in compliance with the regulatory requirements in supported user jurisdictions.
The Lottery System Binance Launchpad operates a lottery system which sees that the number of lottery tickets you can claim being dependant on the amount of BNB tokens you hold in your Binance account over a 20-day period leading up to the day of the lottery, with a maximum of up to 5 tickets per eligible account.
The 20 days leading up to the lottery draw date is represented by X below, and by example, 100 ≤ X < 200 means that your BNB balance over the entire 20-day period is kept at 100 BNB or more, but does not exceed or reach 200 BNB.
A snapshot at 0:00 AM (UTC) each day records each user’s BNB balance, and should your BNB balance drop below the minimum balance required on any given day during the 20-day period, they will be put into the lower threshold. For example, if User A holds 301 BNB for 19 of the 20 days but their balance drops to 299 BNB on one day. They will move to the lower threshold and only be eligible to claim 2 lottery tickets.
Before the actual lottery date, users are given a 24 hour period to select how many lottery tickets they wish to enter, with the maximum number based upon their BNB holdings over the previous 20 days. Here, if a user submits an entry of 5 tickets and 2 tickets end up winning, they are committed to pay for 2 ticket allocations (in BNB) for the tokens.
Each lottery ticket has a unique number with multiple lottery ticket holders, obtaining tickets with consecutive numbers. For example, when claiming 5 tickets, the tickets may be numbered 100010, 100011, 100012, 100013 and 100014.
Once the 24 hour period ends and all tickets have been fully issued, Binance begins to randomly select multi-digit numbers. These are matched against the tail digits of all issued tickets in order to determine the list of winners. The selection process continues until the maximum number of winners are matched, and the respective BNB is deducted from each winning user’s balance, as soon as they are deemed a winner.
Binance announces the maximum number of potential lottery ticket winners, and the allocation amount corresponding to each winning ticket in advance.
Conclusion Currently, the matching engine of the exchange is capable of processing approximately 1.4 million orders each second, hence making it one of the fastest exchanges available on the market. Additionally, the exchange works on all forms of devices, including web, Android, WeChat, and HTML5. Non-English speakers will be happy to know that Binance offers multiple-language support in Chinese, English, Korean and Japanese.
Based on everything that has been outlined so far, Binance is undoubtedly the leading Cryptocurrency Exchange and offers great fees and awesome digital currency support. As it reportedly has access to abundant resources and partners, chances are that Binance will continue to evolve and offer great digital currency exchange services to its clients. We are happy to recommend Binance and have added it to our list of the Best Cryptocurrency Exchanges.
Update, April 2019: We have continued to update this review since Binance was first launched ( we were one of the first to offer a review of the platform at the time ). And as time has progressed, time and time again Binance have proven to be one of the very best, if not the best, exchanges available. Their CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ for short) has been part of the cryptocurrency community and shown high standards of integrity. Binance the exchange has continued to innovate, bringing new products to market and new options for purchasing and trading cryptocurrencies to all corners of the globe.

Kraken withdrawal fee is still 0,001 btc...

I've been using Kraken for a while now, and aside from the obvious irritation at their struggling server capacity, am very pleased with their service.
The withdrawal fee for bitcoin has been 0.001 BTC for a while now, which includes a small service cost. It is now over 10 euros. It takes such a bite out of my profits (using dollar cost averaging) that I've been leaving the bitcoin on the exchange, only withdrawing when the account is over a certain threshold. I understand that this is in part beneficial to them, and that they don't want people to immediately pull their btc from their kraken account.
I would like to urge Kraken to reduce the fee to something lower. Just four months ago, the fee was only a third of what it is now due to the increased price of the bitcoin.

So I just got into bitcoin...

Bought 100 euros worth of bitcoin from Cex.io using my credit card. I proceeded to transfer those funds to my Electrum wallet, which came with a 0.001 btc fee (roughly 6 euros) over which I had no control (can't set fees manually on such a transfer).
Now I'd like to put that bitcoin into my mobile phone wallet (Copay ) but I need to pay more fees for that (unless you "sweep keys" but I'm unfamiliar with that).
I know some of you might say "well just use gdax duuuuug", but
-Gdax is not available in my location - neither is coinbase - neither 80-90% of the other big exchanges.
This leaves me with Cex.io which has quite a high buy price for bitcoin, high fees for transfers.

Ever wondered about buying XRB on a cheaper exchange and selling on a higher exchange for profit? I experimented with 1 XRB and here are my results:

I decided to use CoinFalcon because at the time of my experiment, deposits and withdraws were working on the exchange and the price was one of the highest for XRB
FINAL RESULTS: The steps and conclusion of my "CoinFalcon sell high/buy low experiment" were as follows:
Edit: Due to my small volume of the trade, the fees ate up any potential profit. I do not believe this to be worth your while UNLESS you use far more XRB than I own (50). If you have more and would like to try this experiment yourself, I wish you the best of luck!
Steps:
1.) Depositing to CoinFalcon from my online wallet went perfectly (I already purchased XRB from Bitgrail and had it sent to my online wallet in the past)
2.) Selling my 1 XRB for BTC (only option on CoinFalcon) went smoothly
3.) Found out trying to transfer my .0018 BTC from CoinFalcon to anything else would cost .001 BTC (12 Euros equivalent)
4.) Tried to sell the BTC for IOTA for feeless transfer
5.) Impossible on CoinFalcon to sell all desired BTC amount (all I had) for IOTA. There is no "sell all" option so no matter how much I adjusted the price I was never able to trade all of my BTC for IOTA. I finally undersold to get it to go through, leaving 20 US Cents worth of Bitcoin forever abandoned on CoinFalcon.
6.) IOTA transferred fee-less to Binance [I gave up trying to return it to another exchange for more XRB because at the point the $30.59 sell point was diminished down to about $25.50 or so worth of IOTA (7.082250 IOTA)].
Conclusion: Trading greater volumes would negate fees eating into so much of your profits but having to use exchanges like CoinFalcon and with the current withdraw/deposit issues that so many exchanges are experiencing right now, unless you want to try this with thousands of dollars worth of XRB, the small returns just aren't worth the time it takes.
Live and learn. Basically at the end of that I just traded 1 XRB for a little over 7 IOTA. Some things were expected but all in all it was a decent experiment. Any thoughts?

Ledger blue missing transaction BTC

Hello, I've bought a new wallet Ledger blue. And I have created 3 bitcoin wallets under the names 1, 2 and 3. From Coinbase have transacted 0.1 BTC into wallet No 1. Everything is fine, but transaction hasn't been confirmed for more than 3 hours! The 2nd transaction to the amount of 0.1 BTC to the wallet No 2 appeared in the list of transactions for 1 or 2 minutes and disappeared! This wallet is showing me 0.0!! Then I tried another transaction to the same wallet to the amount of 0.001 and it happened again! The amount disappeared in 1-2 minutes! There is only one amount on wallet No 1 to the amount of 0.1 BTC in the transactions history . The other 2 transactions have disappeared. I have done everything I could! I have cleared Chrome history, downloaded Ledger wallet again, have checked all the addresses on Coinbase, tried to open the wallet on the other computer, double checked all the addresses and they are correct! Everything is correct! Coinbase says that the transfer has been successful! What is going on?? Why do I have such a problem for 300 Euro (cost of Ledger Blue) and more than $1,000 of loss?! How can I find and return my money?

Let me love the Bitcoin, please.

After reading tiny snippets about Bitcoin all the time I decided to take a closer look at it ... and I was floored.
Please don't get me wrong, I really really really want to love the concept, but it seems to be more or less unusable. There are some huge upsides to it: Built on mistrust, fixed amount of money, decentralized system, anonymity and so on. But my reality looked something like this:
Now as you might say, I should have read up on the details (blockchain!) before - but getting started seems to be a big hurdle for the non-geeks out there. Nothing like "get started in seconds!". Even I had some trouble grasping the concept, and I'm sitting in front of a computer for about two decades now.
But wait, there's more! Since my connection is still under heavy load from the client, I could read up on all the things I have missed, and I found some inherent flaws:
For me, Bitcoins could be an awesome form of worldwide, internet-based form of micropayments. The biggest market would be developing countries. But there are technical and legal barriers which push it into a corner for geeks who see conspiracies everywhere and want to crash the system ... which is exactly not what it should be. I read about Ripple, it seems to be a better alternative just because of the possibility for easy money exchanges - and it includes Bitcoin, too.
So, is there something I just don't get yet? I get the impression Bitcoin is a great idea, but just the prototype for something better.

The thoughts of a crypto newbie

Let me first start by mentioning that "I know about Bitcoin" since when the price was $2.
It had just had some big ramp up of the price and everyone was talking about it. I thought to myself "Damn, only if I knew earlier".
Than, some time later, it jumped to $100. I was "Oh my God, I can't believe I missed my chance again!" Than I heard about Bitcoin again when it hit 800. Looking at the chart I told myself "OMG, some people made 10x their money in just 1 month!! How can I be missing these amazing chances for profit!!"
And then I was reminded of Bitcoin again when it hit $2k. Now at that time, maybe because years passed and I am a little bit smarter, my reaction wasn't "Oh my God, I missed it again!?" but I noticed a pattern. Bitcoin was proving me wrong again and again. I DID NOT think that that's it - it can not go higher. $2k? No, fuckin way, that's the highest it will ever go!
This time I realised. If something's proving you wrong again and again - maybe it's time to stop, think about it, do some research and educate yourself.
So I started watching youtube videos, the animated ones that explain how the block chain works, Andreas ones, started visiting this subreddit. I've never done that before. What I mean is - I never before actually spend time learning about what da fak is the block chain? How does Bitcoin works? Why can it be used like money (now explaining about Bitcoin to friends I start with the fact that for money to be possible to be money they have to be unforgeable)? Who invests into Bitcoin? What's the chance of this actually becoming mainstream and mass addoption? Learned about the different vendors accepting it and the infrsastructure there is of Fiat <-> Crypto excahnges and ATMs.
All of this gave me a new view of Cryptocurrencies and particularly Bitcoin. Also, for the first time in my life I actually have some free money. I am for a quite poor, eastern European, country and I've always had just enough to make ends meet. That's it. Just pay the bills. And since not long ago I started transferring something from the previous salary to the next one. Started thinking about saving enought to put a downpayment for a house. And at that time I've started looking into "How can I make my savings increase? As the banks offer me 1% per year and FAK DAT". So it was combination of good time - I had money, being saving anyway, me already looking into investment (thought about buying shares / CFDs with shares of companies I believe are not going to bankrupt anytime soon - Facebook, Oculus, Tesla) and that at that exact time Bitcoin had a new bump and reminded me of it.
So about 2 and a half months ago I bought my first portion of a Bitcoin. Then the price went up 20-30% and I felt more confident - yes, this is going up and for the first time it makes sense ot me why! So I put some more money up. Then I watched these Mike Novozak (or whatever his surname was) videos. And I was like - oh my God, this Wall street veteran, 50 years old guy or so, speaks with such a confidence and understandement of Crypto. If this guy is so confident and is talking about it on US national television - more money is coming! Also something-something in December is coming, also, also, also - so I continue buying, puttint about 10-15% more of my older Crypto investment, buying more parts of a Bitcoin and so far I don't regret a single buy. Even when I bought at 7.2k just before the crash to 5.5k. Hardest 2-3 days of my life, eventhough I was confident this is just temporary!
Last night I've done something I thought I would never do. I sold half my Bitcoins. I sold them at ~ $11.9k. Why? I knew there's a dip coming. The recent price jumps were just making perfect conditions for a dip. There was this post that was showing how much time it took for Bitcoin to go up with 1k from 3-4k, 4-5k, 5-6, etc. And it took t 130 days, them 60 days, then 30 days, then 2 weeks, then it went 8-9k in a week, then it went 9-10k in 2 days, then 10-11k in less than a day! I was sure this can not continue, what do we expect next - 12k in 2h? So I sold. I sold half with the solo reason to rebuy. I rebought at around 9k (I rebought with multiple orders - at 8.8k, 9.1, 9.3k, etc (also have in mind that I did this in Euros not USD, so therefore my numbers in USD can be a little bit off)). Having in mind that I sold just half (just to be safe) and the difference between buying and selling wasn't that big, but I still made 10-11% profit on the half I sold, or total 5% profit on my portfolio.
Hardest part for me was the transfer from my wallet to the Exchange. Oh fuck me, I am so scared. If I mess up I will lose money. Forever. No one can help.
So what I did is to send 0.001 to Kraken first and then they updated the address from "new" to "used" - so I knew I am making transaction to the correct address so then I send the rest. Also it's hard when withdrawing. Again I am afraid that when I am copy-pasting I might mess up. Or maybe a virus that swaps the address. I don't know. But I am so scared moving crypto. Almost not worth it and better just hodl :/
Anyway, this is a quite large post now, don't want to bother you to death with my rumbling, here's final thoughts: For first time buyers: Buy as much as you feel comfortable literally throwing out the window. So You can test. How does exchanges work, how do you transfer to your own wallet so you are 100% protected. How does recovering a wallet work. And then wait. Wait for the price to go up. Once it does you will feel much more comfortable to buy more. Because you KNOW now, you saw it with your eyes - this shit is going up. While waiting - watch videos. A lot. Watch Andreas. He knows what's up. Let's say you put 1k in. price goes up 30%. IF you put in another 1k, you are total 2k in, and can take out 2.3km right? So now price has to go down 15% down before you start being on Red. So wait for the price to go up anotehr 20%, so that 2.3k is now 2.8k and then add another 500-1k in. (these 500-1k are random numbers, for oyu they might be 50-100 dollars, could also be 50k-100k) Once you understand why money that can not be seized by the goverment, someone to freeze your account and ct you out - you will start understanding why Bitcoin has so much value and $10k is not at all it's real value (neither 100k or a million - coins will only be lost, so less coins, while demand will only go up, infrastructure is going to improve). It will only go up, and up, unless some big cataclysm happens (as someone said recently, maybe cryptography can be deciphered, we just haven't found out how yet). Just know that Bitcoin is not ready to be currency - you can not purchase stuff from the store with it, as transaction fees are too high, BUT it's being worked on and it will happen! The more big, multimillionare investors jump on board, the more companies they will make that will be solving all of these current issues we have.
EDIT: One last thing - when will I sell? I intend to sell when I have enough money to put a downpayment for a house. Not just from Bitcoin but from what I've put in here + my other savings. Once I have enough I am selling out, all, so I can get a house, start saving from rent and once that's done I will continue buying in back to what position I was before that. I believe in Bitcoin in really long term - that in the next 30 years it's going to continue rising and if it does for so long it will never stop. Only reason my plan is to sell sometime soon when I am ready with the savings is because is because it will instantly generate income for me (from not wasting money on rent) and secure a profit that can not be lost ever. But even if Bitcoin at that time is 20k and I sell and then start rebuying a month later and price is already 25k - doens't matter, better rebuy at 25k then rebuy at 500k or never. I truly believe in this in long term.

Mining on Nicehash for around 0.05 BTC?

I've bought 10 euro BTC a few days ago to try trading altcoins. Made about a euro in profit and would like to try mining now. How would I go about this? What coin is looking good at the moment? Does it matter what pool I use? Is it better to start with some small/ new coin or something like BTC or ETH?
UPDATE:
  1. I'm trying to buy hashpower. No place to run a rig .
  2. I just tried to withdraw my 0.00483698 bitcoin from Bittrex.com and send it to Nicehash. Bittrex told me a 0.001 BTC fee would apply. I thought it was a bit much for such a small amount. But oke. Now I've received 0.00283698 BTC on pending at Nicehash. Am I missing something? Or did Bittrex take double fee? Does Nicehash also take a 0.001 fee when I deposit?
  3. Unfortunaly it looks like I need 0.01 on Nicehash to buy hashing power??

Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies

What is Bitcoin?
Bitcoin is a form of digital currency, created and held electronically. No one controls it. Bitcoins aren’t printed, like dollars or euros – they’re produced by people, and increasingly businesses, running computers all around the world, using software that solves mathematical problems.
It’s the first example of a growing category of money known as cryptocurrency. It was created in 2009 by a software developer called Satoshi Nakamoto. The idea was to produce a currency independent of any central authority, transferable electronically, more or less instantly, with very low transaction fees.
This is a video that explains it better: Bitcoin
Why are a lot of people talking about it?
Bitcoin's price skyrocketed in 2017. From around $1,000 per Bitcoin, it is now $11,000. Alternative coins (or altcoins), like Ethereum and Litecoin, went up by as much 1000% this year as well. I have a lot of friends who became millionaires because of Bitcoin just this year.
How do I buy Bitcoin?
  1. Download the coins.ph app from the app store. If you find this guide useful, you can use my referral code. here If you finish the level 2 verification, we'll both get 50 pesos.
  2. From there, you can load money to your account thru 7-11 outlets or thru banks. You can convert the Peso you deposited into Bitcoin in your account. Note that the price of Bitcoin fluctuates throughout the day, so it is best to convert when the price of Bitcoin is low. If you want to withdraw your money from the app, you can do so via Banks, GCash, etc.
There are also similar apps, like Abra, or physical stores like Moneybees, but I have no experience using them. I believe you can buy Ethereum in Abra and Moneybees.
How do I earn money?
You can keep your Bitcoin in your coins.ph account, HOLD, and wait for the price of Bitcoin to go up. There was this person who posted here in reddit about a few weeks ago that he earned 50k from an initial investment of 35k. I started a few months ago and earned double my initial investment.
If you want to trade, you can transfer your bitcoin from your coins.ph account, to exchanges like Bittrex, Binance, or Poloniex. There are other exchanges, but these are the ones I'm familiar with. Once you've transferred your Bitcoin there, you can buy other coins. Trading is very risky and I do not recommend it if you do not have prior experience. You can lose a lot of money overnight or even in a few minutes.
https://poloniex.com https://www.binance.com https://www.bittrex.com https://www.coinbase.com
Stocks, or Bitcoin?
The returns if you invest in Bitcoin are huge, potentially. The coins are limited in number, it is becoming harder and harder to mine, and with more people becoming aware of Bitcoin and wanting to invest in it, it will drive the price up. Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies can go up by 10%, 20% or even 100% or higher overnight. However, you can lose just as much. The prices are very volatile that one good or bad news can affect its price by a lot.
Also, people argue that Bitcoin has no intrinsic value. For stocks, the value is determined by the performance of the company, its assets, earnings, etc. Bitcoin doesn't have that. The price is determined by the demand for it. The banks hate Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for good measure and have been calling it a "bubble".
I'd still say that diversifying your investment is still the best way to go.
Bitcoin's price is too high. What can I do?
You don't have to buy 1 bitcoin for 550,000 pesos. You can buy .5, .05, or even .001 Bitcoin. You can also buy other cryptocurrencies. The top cryptocurrencies after Bitcoin are: Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Ripple, IOTA, Dash, Litecoin, Bitcoin Gold, NEO, etc.
If you want to own other coins, transfer your Btc to an exchange, and you can buy the other coins there.
You can track your monies by downloading the Blockfolio app. Trust me, there's no better feeling than waking up in the morning to see that you've earned a lot of money while sleeping.
You can check them by going to https://coinmarketcap.com.
What is Mining?
Imagine depositing money in a bank. The bank's database stores the information that you deposited the money and how much you have. In Bitcoin, People are sending bitcoins to each other over the bitcoin network all the time, but unless someone keeps a record of all these transactions, no-one would be able to keep track of who had paid what. The bitcoin network deals with this by collecting all of the transactions made during a set period into a list, called a block. It’s the miners’ job to confirm those transactions, and write them into a general ledger. They are rewarded with the transaction fees and coins.
I personally don't mine, but from what I've gathered, a "mining rig" costs between 100k-180k pesos depending on the number of video cards. The average ROI is around 4-6 months.

Huge Bisq/Bitsquare update - Check out v0.5.1
